i ♥ color

new baby

i finally got a real longboard 2 weeks ago. it was worth almost the same as my new 64gb ipod touch. still can't decide which one makes me happier.

shoelaces

i've always had a thing for changing the original laces shoes come with. i've always had a thing for asymmetry as well. so, most of my shoes & sneakers look like these.

chocolate

this is by far the best chocolate bar design i've ever seen. it's from spain and it's organic.

vitalic . poison lips

i'm not much of a video person, but sometimes i find things that amaze me. this made my day today. i love the colors, the concept, the casting, the shibuya background, everything is perfect.
i was looking for a music link to post this song, but instead i found the video, and now i'm not sure if i like the video more than i like the song

the dank masterplan by dj yumiko

the dank masterplan  by  dj yumiko

this is the first mix i've ever made, at the beginning of 2008, with the help of my dj/producer friend eugenio royale. i made this originally for a radio show in mexico city.
the track selection was made thinking about getting in the mood to go wild on the dancefloor, just the way i like it.
a great number of the songs are ebm (electronic body music, better known as industrial music), which used to be my favorite genre for a couple of years, but then realized that it was just me and a couple of friends who liked it that much, and been forced to move on and let it go.
there are a couple of electro songs too, that are more in the dark side of electro, so this is kind of a very dark music selection, but this is what i liked at that moment, and i still do, but i don't use to play like that anymore.
here's the tracklist:
01. nitzer ebb . i thought (robag's schikkuli instrumental)
02. front 242 . masterhit (part I - masterblaster)
03. sara noxx . stupid
04. motor . bleep #1

fever ray

vinyl

is nice when you can go to your local record shop and find this kind of vinyl. i got this today and i'm quite happy, cause it also includes a free digital album download, so i don't have to go through the trouble of making mp3's myself, which takes a considerable amount of time, and since i don't have much of that, i appreciate enormously when vinyl comes with its own mp3 version, just ready to start living on my ipod.

china latina by dj yumiko

china latina  by  dj yumiko

i'm half mexican-half japanese born and raised in mexico. i've never felt related to any latin rhythms at all, not to listen to, not to dance to. but one year ago, i started thinking different, i kinda started liking reggae music, and some rhythms related to reggaeton.
and here i am, at 30, feeling the urge to move my hips like a real latin girl. who would have thought this would happen!
so, this mix is my personal tribute to latin-related rhythms, though hip-hop is not latin, i kinda feel like it is.

12. dj assault . pop your pussy

current obsession

according to wikipedia, "major lazer is a fictional animated character, who (according to press releases) fought as a jamaican commando and lost his arm in a secret zombie war in 1984".

major lazer are diplo & switch, both djs & producers, who headed to jamaica to record their first album "guns don't kill people... lazers do", released in june 2009. this is a really good album, but i (as the dj i am) prefer the remixes; some of them are by diplo himself.
